Community at the Heart

We have been so lucky to have the very talented Annina Diston, graphic designer, bringing her creativity to capture the community spirit of York Scrubs.

Annina specialises in creating and reinventing brand identities. However, she is a lady of many talents and she is also an accomplished creative director, illustrator, occasional painter and miniature.

‘I started my career at an advertising agency in my native Switzerland, then rose through the ranks to become Head of Creative at a leading Brighton design agency. I went freelance in 2011 to allow me to be more flexible around my family and I now work for a range of UK and international clients from my studio just outside York.’

Annina has done an amazing job of creating some really professional information cards, posters and postcards working with Ellie’s illustrations and adding in her own. Thanks to their fabulous teamwork we’ve been able to create things that feel very special and unique. Annina has always been incredibly responsive and so happy to help, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with her on this project.

No stranger to community work, this year Annina has been instrumental in establishing Bishop Wilton Community Shop. Bringing her local community together to provide a vital lifeline for many throughout the pandemic. There is a lovely article all about the community ship in the York Press if you’d like to read more.

I love the potential of a blank page and believe that anything is possible with a good coffee in hand, if you’d like to find out more (click here)

It’s not the first time I’ve worked with Annina on a community project. She created a great logo and information leaflet for Pass the Party, a community group hiring party tableware and decorations in an effort to reduce party waste. The party boxes haven’t had much action this year but it’s all primed for the scrubs after party (when we are allowed, of course!).
