Step 2:

  • Take your hook tape (Velcro or similar) – approx.. 4cm (1 1/2”) and place on the left side of your front crown piece. (The hook part of the tape is the rough part).

  • Repeat with the loop tape (the soft part of the Velcro) on the left side of your back piece.

Step 3:

  • Place your two crown pieces right side facing and pin. Sew around the entire outside edge using a 1cm (3/8” seam).

  • At each corner go back and forwards a few times to strengthen the stitching.

  • Leave 7cm – 10cm unsewn along the bottom edge. Trim seam allowance and snip as far as you can into each point.

Hints and Tips

  • Leave the bottom edge completely unsewn and use bias binding to enclose the raw edges after turning.

  • You could try a fusible flex- foam instead of interfacing for a plush crown.
